Emirates to connect Dubai and Bali

New route: The Dubai-Bali route will be the second connecting the UAE with Indonesia since Emirates opened the Dubai-Jakarta network 23 years ago.

Emirates has announced its plan to connect its hub in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Bali starting on June 3. The daily flight will take around nine and a half hours and will be served by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

“Bali welcomed around 3.7 million foreign tourists last year and more than 800,000 of them came from North America, Europe and Middle East. These are the markets that we want to tap into,” Emirates Indonesia country manager Satish Sethi told The Jakarta Post Travel during a roundtable interview session on May 27.

Sethi went on to refer to the carrier's recently opened Dubai-Orlando, US, route.

“Until recently, passengers from Orlando have to take a two-stop flight to reach Bali. But with the availability of the Dubai-Bali route, the journey will only need one stop, which is more convenient,” Sethi added.

The Dubai-Bali route will be the second connecting the UAE with Indonesia since Emirates opened the Dubai-Jakarta network 23 years ago. It is also the carrier's 145th route, and the second to be opened this year after Dubai-Orlando.

To promote the new route, Emirates plans to invite tour operators from across Europe and the Middle East on an excursion to Bali. It will also provide promotional fares and discounts for outbound flights from Indonesia.
