Vietnam-based SaaS enterprise platform Base.vn announced today it has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding led by 500 Startups and Vietnam Innovative Startup Accelerator (VIISA).

Three other unnamed angels also participated in the round.

Base.vn is an open platform that helps enterprises streamline activities such as hiring, payroll, task management, team collaboration, and approval management. While these applications can work on a standalone basis, they can also communicate freely with each other via simple API integrations, Base said in a statement.

“Alignment and unity are among the most important things for business operation. However, businesses now are juggling with too many solutions from too many developers, which in turns, leads to data decentralisation. Managers are having a hard time looking at things at an organisational scale, while regular team members are finding it difficult to collaborate,” said Pham Kim Hung, Founder and CEO of Base.vn. “An all-around, data-centric system like Base.vn can be a game-changer, offering enterprises stable and healthy development.”

So far, Base.vn has integrated over 20 applications developed by Base itself as well third parties. The apps are categorised based on five pillars of every enterprise: human resources, sales & marketing, finance, operations, and management.

Base.vn claims to have served more than 500 SME and corporate customers in Vietnam, including ACB Bank, ABBank, VIB Bank, MK Group, The Coffee House, etc.

The startup plans to become the leading SaaS platform in Southeast Asia within the next two years.

“SMEs and corporations alike need to digitise their operations intelligently if they want to be able to compete in the 21st century. That’s why 500 Startups has previously invested in several successful enterprise startups, like Twilio, Plangrid, and Talkdesk. However, I believe that many international solutions haven’t paid enough attention to this region. Base can fill the gap in Vietnam and beyond,” said Eddie Thai, General Partner of 500 Startups Vietnam.

VIISA was founded in January 2017 by FPT Ventures, Dragon Capital together with Hanwha Investment & Securities, with support from leading technology companies in Vietnam. The programme specifically aims at innovative and groundbreaking technology solutions. So far, it has attracted more than 400 registrations from Vietnamese startups, many of which have achieved great success both in domestic and regional markets.
