Eric Trump on Wednesday dismissed the backlash over President Trump’s caustic comments on immigration that have led some members of the media to label his father a racist.

“My father sees one color — green,” Eric Trump said on “Fox & Friends” in a segment that was promoted in a tweet by the president. “That is all he cares about. He cares about the economy. He is the least racist person I ever met in my entire life. It’s total nonsense.”

During an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers about U.S. immigration policy on Thursday, numerous media outlets reported that Trump referred to people from African nations as coming from “shithole countries” — vulgar language that sparked international outrage and led to charges of racism, which grew louder over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend.

The White House denied the comments, but Trump admitted to using “tough” language in the meeting. His own Homeland Security secretary, while not recalling Trump’s specific comment, confirmed Tuesday that profanity was plentiful in the meeting.

Eric Trump accused news outlets of focusing on his father’s alleged comments while ignoring unemployment data.

“They’ll never report that African-American unemployment is the lowest it has ever been,” he said, echoing a tweet his father published the day before in response to a “Fox & Friends” segment that included a misleading claim about Trump’s approval ratings.

According to the New York Times, the survey showed Trump’s approval among black Americans “actually declined from 20 percent in February 2017, his first full month in office, to 15 percent in December.”

On “Fox & Friends,” Eric Trump also blasted the media for its coverage of his father’s health, criticizing reporters for their extensive questioning of White House physician Ronny Jackson during Tuesday’s White House press briefing.

“These people have lost their minds,” the younger Trump said.

On Tuesday, Jackson unveiled the results of President Trump’s recent physical exam, declaring him to be in “excellent” health despite having high cholesterol and needing to lose a few pounds. Jackson said Trump passed a cognitive test that the president insisted on taking after questions were raised about his mental fitness.

“It’s insane,” Eric Trump said of the questions surrounding his father’s mental condition. “Anybody who knows my father could tell you that he has more energy than any human being. I mean, the guy has more energy than anybody I’ve ever met that’s my age at 35.”

President Trump is 71.

“He’s unbelievable. He doesn’t stop. He’s an absolute machine,” Eric Trump added. “I mean, I’ve never seen my father with a cold.”
