Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and any other clubs pushing to sign Erling Haaland look set to be disappointed this summer.

All three aforementioned Premier League heavyweights are known to be tracking the prolific Norwegian striker, who has become one of world football’s most high-profile and in-demand talents after scoring 53 goals in just 56 games for Borussia Dortmund - a remarkable run that includes 37 in 38 outings across all competitions this term.

Haaland - along with soon-to-be free agent Sergio Aguero and former Blues frontman Romelu Lukaku, who has just fired Inter Milan to a first Serie A title for 11 years - is understood to be high on Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel’s transfer wishlist with Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud both potentially set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Manchester United are also targeting Haaland again after initially missing out prior to his move to the Bundesliga as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add a world-class striker to his ranks.

Premier League champions-elect Manchester City, meanwhile, will be on the hunt for a long-term replacement for record scorer Aguero, who is set to leave the Etihad Stadium after a trophy-laden 10-year stint when his current contract expires in June.

While suitors are expected to push for Haaland with potentially huge bids during the next transfer window, the player has a buyout clause of £65million that it is thought will only become active in the summer of 2022.

And according to BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, the 20-year-old will remain at Dortmund until then, despite agent Mino Raiola recently hinting that the club could be tempted to sell this summer for the right price.

"I’ve known Mino for a long time and get along well with him,” Watzke told Sport1 in Germany.

"You have to accept his idiosyncrasies. But he also knows the idiosyncrasies of Borussia Dortmund.

"He can give a new interview every day for all I care. It’s no problem for us. Erling Haaland will remain a BVB player next year."

Watzke echoed the sentiments of sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who also believes Haaland is happy to stay at Dortmund - who are currently fifth in the Bundesliga and fighting just to return to the Champions League after a hugely disappointing domestic season - for the 2021/22 campaign.

“I understand that Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund in the new season,” Kehl said.

“Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say that he completely identifies with the club.”
