Ex-Seremban Land Office clerk pleads not guilty to 38 counts of falsifying documents

SEREMBAN: A former clerk with the Seremban District and Land Office pleaded not guilty at the Seremban Magistrate's Court to 38 counts of falsifying local order (LO) documents, here today.

Maidzatul Ashra Mokhtar, 37, made the plea before Magistrate Nurul Fitriza Abd Latif and Magistrate Mohd Zaki Abd Rahman.

According to all 38 charges read before both magistrates, she was accused of forging the LO in order to deceive her superiors.

All offences were committed on February 19 last year at the Seremban District and Land Office here.

Subsequently, she was charged under Section 468 of the Penal Code which provides for imprisonment of up to seven years and a fine.

Both magistrates allowed bail of RM61,000 and set May 31 for re-mention.

The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Azriff Firdaus Mohamad and Sara Afiqah Zulkipli, while the accused was represented by Noliana Ali Othman.
