The alleged gold shipment scandal is said to be amounting to $141 billion.
MANILA, Philippines — The Transnational-Anti Organized Crime Intelligence Group or TAOC-IG confirms that it has gathered enough documents that would prove the alleged shipment and deposit of 3,500 metric tons of gold in the bank of Thailand.
In UNTV’s exclusive interview with Dr. Galma Arcilla, the director general of the Transnational-Anti Organized Crime Intelligence Group, he says the documents they have gathered are not fake.
(The documents cannot be fake because we have central banks ready to divulge everything they know. We will further strengthen the case, and gather more evidence.)
It can be recalled that former President Benigno Aquino III, and 6 others including some his cabinet members were charged before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the alleged shipment of $141-billion in gold to Thailand.
Others charged were former justice secretary and now Senator Leila de Lima, former DILG Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr., former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Treasury Department Chief Dealer Lorelei Fernandez and Sen. Franklin Drilon.
Arcilla has also expressed sadness that an official of a government agency refused to support their National Anti-Graft and Corruption summit, Tuesday. This was after the issue of gold shipment surfaced.
Dr. Galma Arcilla added,“Kaya nga lang nung ilabas po namin ito may isang agency halimbawa nag-file ng kaso si Atty. Perito tapos saka naman lumabas yung mga advisory sa mayor na huwag umattend dito.”
(However, when we released it, and after Atty. Perito filed cases, the mayor released an advisory to refrain from attending the summit.)
The complainants in the gold shipment case, meanwhile, say they will release additional set of evidence and documents next week to strengthen their accusations.
Atty. Fred Perito and witness Roger Cantoria in the alleged anomalous gold shipment under the Aquino administration have granted an interview with UNTV.
They claim to have another witness that would prove their accusations.
Atty. Fred Perito, “We will strengthen those statement that we have, we’ll strengthen all whatever we have said.”
While witness Roger Cantoria assured, “Sa abot ng aking nalalaman saka nalalaman ko sa kaso, haharap ako… totoo yun, nasa Spain nga yung gold bars, eh.”
(I am ready to face them and tell them everything I know… the allegations are true because the gold bars are already in Spain.) – Bryan De Paz / UNTV News & Rescue
