PUTRAJAYA: The first three hours of the ongoing Ekspresi Negaraku carnival has drawn a large and varied crowd to Dataran Putrajaya.

Visitors, mostly youths and families, came as early as 6.30am to participate in the

'Larian Bendera Negaraku' run, which kicked off the event, was followed by a group aerobics session.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said he was delighted to see the high turnout, as Malaysians from all walks of life had converged in one venue to express their love for the nation.

"The aim of this event is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the people.

"Everyone has their own unique way of showing their patriotism, and we are blessed to live in a multiracial, multi-religious country in harmony," he told the New Straits Times today.
