EY appoints Liew Nam Soon as new Asean managing partner

SINGAPORE (June 25): EY has appointed Liew Nam Soon as its managing partner for the Asean region, effective July 1.

Liew will be responsible for the operations of the EY Asean Region, which spans 14 geographic markets.

He will also be a member of the EY Asia-Pacific Area Operating Executive, the top decision-making body in the Asia-Pacific with accountability for strategy execution.

“Asean is extremely diverse and one of the most competitive regions globally with great growth potential. I’m honoured to take on this role and excited to build on the strong foundations that have been laid,” says Liew.

“My priorities are to further embed our strategic imperatives and accelerate on EY growth drivers, as well as ensure that we relentlessly focus on delivering connected, seamless and exceptional client service across the region,” he adds.

Liew is no stranger to the organisation’s operations within the Asean region. Prior to this new role, he was the EY Asean Regional Markets Leader. Before that, he was the EY Asean Financial Services Organization Leader.

Liew will succeed Max Loh, who steps down as EY Asean Regional Managing Partner after eight years in the role.

Loh will remain as the Country Managing Partner for Singapore and Brunei.

“Nam Soon brings a wealth of industry and market experience and astute commercial acumen to this leadership role,” says Loh.

“He has extensive consulting experience in large-scale business and technology transformation, as well as risk management and compliance – some of the most pressing issues that EY clients are facing,” he adds.
