F1 photo sparks renewed rumors about Sandro Marcos' alleged celeb date
A photo of Sandro Marcos enjoying drinks together with actress Alexa Miro at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix has once more fueled speculation that the pair are in a romantic relationship.
Malacañang officially confirmed on Monday (October 3) that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited Singapore over the weekend to watch the F1 Grand Prix.
Sandro, an Ilocos Norte Representative as well as Senior Deputy Majority Leader in Congress, was part of his father President Marcos' entourage, which also included the leader's wife Liza Araneta-Marcos and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The official Singapore F1 Grand Prix website posted a photo of Sandro and Miro smiling and having a toast together with an unidentified third person in the VIP area of Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The photo was dated Saturday, October 1.
Miro had previously been linked to Sandro after she was seen at the congressman's oath-taking at Malacañang on June 30.
In addition, Sandro responded to a question about his girlfriend in a video of Vice President Sara Duterte's oath-taking that circulated on social media.
In the video, Lani Mercado asked Sandro whether his girlfriend was from Bacoor, Cavite.
Sandro replied, "Yes. But atin-atin lang iyan ha (Yes. But let’s keep that between ourselves.)"
Alexa lives in Bacoor.
However, the actress denied being in a relationship with Sandro in an interview with Pep.
"Ganun pa rin naman, super, super close kami. Nagkakapalagayan ng loob, may tiwala sa isa't isa. The same lang sa halos lahat ng magkakaibigan, halos parang girl best friend na niya ako," she said.
(It’s still like that, we’re super, super close. We’re getting along, there is trust in each other. It’s the same with almost all friends, I’m almost like his girl best friend.)
She did leave the possibility open of a romantic relationship, however, saying, “Hindi ko masasabi kasi hindi ko naman pinipigilan ang sarili ko kung kanino ako mai-in love. I don't dictate who should I love, who should I give chance to. But right now, wala pa naman."
(I can’t say because I don’t stop myself from falling in love with. I don’t dictate who I should love, who I should give a chance to. But right now, there’s nothing yet.)
Miro first rose to fame in a 2018 Jollibee commercial. She later joined the cast of ABS-CBN's now defunct TV series "Araw-Gabi". She also acted in the 2021 movie "A Girl + A Guy" directed by Erik Matti.
