JOHOR BARU: The family of Mohamad Thaqif Amin Gadaffi waited for five hours before they were able to claim the boy's body today.

The post-mortem examination started at 5.30pm. His body eventually left the mortuary of the Sultan Ismail Hospital at about 10.50pm, and was brought to the family's village in Felda Bukit Aping Timur, near Kota Tinggi for burial.

Earlier, the 'mandi jenazah' and 'solat jenazah' were performed at the mortuary's prayer room. The prayers were led by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The body is being brought back to the family home in Felda Bukit Aping Timur at the request of Thaqif's grandparents.

Thaqif's aunt, Dzuraidah Ahmad said the family will decide whether the burial will be done tonight or tomorrow, depending on the time the body arrives at Felda Bukit Aping Timur.
