Fann Wong, Kim Chiu: How celebrities spent their Christmas in 2021
As we enter the holiday period in 2021, many of us are already used to scaled-down parties in this new normal. Nevertheless, it's the best time to express gratitude for our loved ones – as do celebrities – with gift exchanges, feasting, and sweet family photos. Here, Yahoo Life SEA rounds up how some of your favourite regional celebs had celebrated their 2021's holiday season.
1. Fann Wong
With hubby Christopher Lee away in Taiwan for filming, Fann Wong spent quality time with her son, Zed Lee, for Christmas. Captioning in Chinese, "Actually, kissing our son is counted as kissing you" and tagging Lee, Wong continued in English, "May this Christmas fill your home with joy, your heart with love and your life with laughter". Lee commented on the post with a series of hearts and kissing faces, and Wong replied, "I kissed you over ten thousand times."
2. Kim Chiu
Filipina actress Kim Chiu shared a series of photos and videos with her fans at a Christmas dinner with her loved ones. "When life throws you lemons, throw them back," she wrote, adding that she is "thankful for the #giftofFamily."
3. Marion Caunter
Malaysia's style icon Marion Caunter shared a family photo with husband SM Nasarudin and their three children on her Instagram, captioning "Merry Christmas from our family to yours." The family, dressed in different shades of red, posed in front of a giant Christmas tree in their home. Caunter had subsequently shared more photos with family members who had joined them in the festive celebration.
4. Zoe Tay
The Queen of Caldecott herself posted a series of photos with her furkids, Tong Tong, Ki Ki, and Niu Niu, in front of her Christmas tree on Christmas day. Zoe Tay also made sure to post individual photos of her pets in both her Christmas post and their personal Instagram accounts, while wishing fans a blessed Merry Christmas.
5. Chen Xi
Medicorp actor Chen Xi, who is Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen's son, shared a photo with his family's cats, Miwa and Mugi Chen, in front of Christmas decorations on Boxing Day.
6. Tong Bing Yu
Malaysian actress Tong Bing Yu, who was based in Singapore before moving to China to further her acting, shared a sentiment post on Instagram for the holidays. Greeting her fans a "Merry Xmas", Tong went on in Chinese to share that "the situation is dire these few days and even lending a helping hand get sconed by others. Regardless of how you feel, if others were helping or just putting up a show, at least, to me, if the end results were beneficial, we should all be thankful. You don't have to praise, but you shouldn't defame." The actress ended her post wishing everyone Happy Holidays.
7. Xu Bin
Proud father of two, Noontalk Media's Xu Bin shared a happy candid photo of him with two Christmas stockings, captioning the post with a simple, 'Merry Christmas.' In the picture with him was a side view of his son, Ethan Xu.
8. Yiu Lin
Malaysian entrepreneur Yiu Lin had shared a series of Instagram posts that showed off her family's celebrations. "Merry Christmas to all celebrating," she captioned and added, "Also our prayers for all those affected by the floods".
9. Bea Alonzo
Filipina actress and model Bea Alonzo dropped a video two weeks before Christmas, sharing "how we usually do our rustic Christmas tree at the farm." In a more recent post, Alonzo shared that the drive home was "a 7-hour drive back to our farm (just because it was traffic) yesterday", and in her words, "All worth it, though."
10. Heart Evangelista
Filipina actress and currently the first lady of the province of Sorsogon, Heart Evangelista, shared a family photo wishing "you and your family a very Merry Christmas!" Evangelista captioned her post with, "Same time last year, everything was different. The big shift in our lives made me practice gratitude even more and express my love to my family every single moment. To celebrate this very special holiday with them is the best gift I could ever receive. Have a blessed Christmas, everyone!"
