Filipino musical "Mula sa Buwan" gets big screen adaptation

20 Sep – A film version of the Filipino musical, "Mula sa Buwan" is set to be produced soon.

As reported on Rappler, the news was shared by creator Pat Valera, who will also be producing the film along with Cinema Centenario's Dev Angeo and Respeto's Monster Jimenez.

The upcoming film will be directed by "Respeto" director, Alberto "Treb" Monteras II. However, no news yet on the casting details.

Helmed by Pat Valera and William Elvin Manzano and first ran in 2016, "Mula sa Buwan" is based on the story of Cyrano de Bergerac set in 1940s Manila, which was on the brink of war.

It tells the story of ROTC cadet Cyrano, who falls in love with his childhood friend Roxanne, but sends her letters using the name of another handsome suitor, Christian - causing misunderstanding and complex situation between the three of them.
