Fintech company Adyen expands its presence in APAC, partners with Grab
Adyen moves to new, larger premises in Singapore and was selected by Grab as its payment solution partner in Southeast Asia
Payment solutions company Adyen has today announced its expansion and move to a new Singapore office, which will remain as a regional headquarter for the company as it increases its presence in Asia Pacific. Adyen has also announced that Grab, Southeast Asia’s ride-hailing platform, has selected them to extend the capabilities of its GrabPay platform in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Grab will partner with Adyen and the two aim to deliver a consistent, frictionless payment experience for customers traveling across markets regardless of their device or payment method.
Adyen currently has three offices in Asia Pacific, including Shanghai and Sydney.

In 2015, Adyen announced that it processed US$50 billion in transaction volume, up from US$25 billion, and achieved revenue of US$350 million, a growth of more than 100 per cent over 2014.
Recently, the company was valued at US$2.3 billion following an investment from Iconiq Capital, which followed a US$250 million investment round in December 2014 from General Atlantic, Felicis Ventures, Temasek, and Index Ventures.
“Asia Pacific is the most active e-commerce market in the world and Adyen sees enormous potential to enable e-commerce and omni-channel businesses in this region,” said Warren Hayashi, President, Asia Pacific at Adyen, in a press statement.
Founded in 2006, Adyen is headquartered in Amsterdam and San Francisco, with offices across North America, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Its customers include Uber, Airbnb, Netflix, Spotify, Dropbox, Evernote, Booking.com, Yelp, Vodafone, Superdry, Mango, Crocs, O’Neill, SoundCloud, KLM and JustFab.
