Fiorentina fans have hung up a banner outside the club's Artemio Franchi stadium apologising for having racially abused Serbian coach Sinisa Mihajlovic. Although Fiorentina won 1-0 against Genoa on Sunday and are only two points off a European place, Mihajlovic has come under fire this season. Despite the Genoa victory some fans chanted slogans against Mihajlovic calling for him to quit but also attacking his Serbian nationality. But during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday a banner was hung up which said: "As a coach we can oppose you but as a man we respect you, sorry!" Previously fans had hung a banner at the ground asking Mihajlovic to pack his bags and in a play on words they named the road 'Mihajlovic Street of Florence'. In Italian the word street or road comes from the same root as the verb to go, hence the phrase also meant Mihajlovic leaves Florence.
