Dispute at Hay River, N.W.T., home led to fire, RCMP say

A house in Hay River, N.W.T. has been consumed by fire.

The fire happened at a residence in Rowes Trailer Court, near the Legion.

In a Facebook post, the Town of Hay River told residents to stay away from the area to allow crews to do their work.

RCMP say they received a call around 7:18 a.m. on Friday about a disturbance at a residence on Woodland Drive.

One person was transported from the residence with "minor injuries" and the home is a total loss, RCMP said.

They also said an initial investigation determined "a fight between individuals precipitated the fire."

The disturbance and the fire are still under investigation.
