Fire broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at a construction site near shopping mall Junction 10, formerly known as Ten Mile Junction, in Bukit Panjang.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident at 2:58am and subsequently deployed three fire engines, a red rhino, an ambulance and five support vehicles.

Nobody was injured from the fire, which was extinguished in 30 minutes using three water jets, according to SCDF, adding that the cause of fire is under investigation.

The area affected is part of the construction site for Downtown Line.

The Land Transport Authority said it happened at a "localised area within the DTL Bukit Panjang worksite...There is also no impact to DTL2 construction."

LTA also said they are assisting SCDF with investigations.
