IPOH: A 300kg man from Taman Canning here had to be transported by a lorry to the hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties today.
It took eight firemen to cart the 49-year-old man from his house on to the lorry to deliver him to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
His family had called 999 for assistance at 9.16am. However, knowing that a normal ambulance will not be able to fit the man, they had requested a lorry to be sent to pick him up.
Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Khamis Harun said it took about three hours to lift the man up with the help of blankets and a mattress.
“The stretcher was too small for the man. The whole process was quite smooth as the man was still conscious and it was easy for us to give instructions and guide him,” he added.
