BAU : A Fire and Rescue Department team had to climb up Mount Singai here today to bring down a senior citizen who encountered health problems after climbing halfway up the mountain. The 65-year-old man had, together with 68 others, climbed the mountain this morning to reach a church located halfway up Mount Singai.

However, the senior citizen faced difficulties and could not descend for treatment. Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department director Nor Hisham Mohamad said the department received a distress call at 6.08am. He said six firemen rushed to the location and arrived at 6.30am. "The senior citizen was weak so initial treatment was given before the man and his wife was brought down. He was then sent to Bau Hospital for treatment." © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
