Florence + the Machine releases single for upcoming Tim Burton flick

Florence Welch from British indie band Florence and the Machine

Florence + the Machine have released "Wish That You Were Here," set to feature in Tim Burton's "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," reports Rolling Stone.

The wistful, sprawling song features lead voice Florence Welch belting out over strings and a keyboard, leading to a forceful chorus: "And I never minded being on my own," sings Welch. "Then something broke in me and I wanted to go/To be where you are/But even closer to you, you seem so very far."

The song, which Welch collaborated on with Burton, will appear in the film's end credits. The film, which arrives in cinemas on September 30, is adapted from the 2011 debut novel by American author Ransom Riggs.
