Football: Morrison leaves Lazio 'for personal reasons' - report

Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison could be on the verge of quitting the Serie A club after leaving their training ground to return to England, reports in Italy claimed on Thursday. Former England under-21 player Morrison, who joined Lazio on a free transfer earlier this season when his contract at West Ham expired, has made only three appearances for Lazio in Serie A this season. The 22-year-old failed to make Stefano Pioli's starting XI for Lazio's Europa League game against Dnipro on Thursday, with a report on the calciomercato.it website claiming he is now "on his way back to England for personal reasons". Lazio, who sit top of Group G, are already qualified for the next round of Europe's second tier club competition. The report added that Morrison could be on his way out of the club for good because "his relationship with Pioli has failed to take off", although it is not the first time Morrison has been linked with a return to England. He started training with Lazio in February ahead of his official move in June, but reports during the summer claimed Morrison was unsettled and was looking to return to England to play for former club Queens Park Rangers -- which Morrison later denied. Morrison made his competitive debut for Lazio in a 3-0 Champions League play-off defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in August when he came on as a second-half substitute.
