From Esquire UK

As the old adage goes: "Not all heroes wear capes; some wear football boots."... or something like that. So step forward Francis Kone: friend, goal-scorer, life-saver.

In a moment of spontaneous bravery, the Togolese striker, who plays for Slovacko in the Czech First League, acted quickly after opposition goalkeeper Martin Berkovec began to choke on his own tongue, having been knocked out during a collision with another Slovacko player.

Assessing the danger immediately, Kone put his hand in the goalkeeper's mouth to unblock his throat and prevent him for suffocating.

Berkovec, who was fine in the end, later wrote on Facebook: "I would like to thank Francis Kone for rescue and emergency… I'm glad for the relief and thanks again!!!"

In an interview following the incident, Kone told reporters: "It wasn't the first time I have done that. It's something like the fourth time. Twice in Africa, once in Thailand."

All in a day's work for Francis.
