The foreign workers who were widely praised online for helping to move a car stuck on the stairs at Waterway Point at Punggol were employed by the car’s driver, according to a Channel NewsAsia report citing a mall spokesperson on Friday (22 Sept).

On Thursday night, a video showing more than 10 foreign workers pushing the car back onto the road went viral. The person who took the video lauded the workers for taking the initiative to move the vehicle while onlookers watched and took photos.

“The driver activated his workers from his company to push his car back to the driveway,” said the mall spokesperson, adding that the car landed on the stairs after the driver made a wrong turn.
