Former AFP Chief Ricardo Visaya is new NIA chief

MANILA, Philippines — Former AFP Chief of Staff Ricardo Visaya was swor on Monday as the new head of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).

Visaya replaced Peter Laviña who resigned in February due to allegations of corruption.

The former military official vows to focus on increasing farmers’ rice production.
