Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has reportedly been arrested after being involved in an incident which left a taxi driver with a broken jaw.
Bendtner was out in Copenhagen on Saturday night – despite being in Denmark’s squad for their friendly with Wales on Sunday – and according to Danish newspaper reports punched his taxi driver.
Danish paper Ekstra Bladet say that Bendtner was charged by police, while the taxi company involved have confirmed an incident took place with someone by that name.
“It’s the name (Bendtner) that the driver has reported. The episode has taken place with the taxi company’s employees,” cab firm DanTaxi said
“We are deeply shaken. This applies to everyone in the business. We have been informed internally, and of course this is something that has left us shaken.
“Copenhagen police confirmed to the newspaper that they received a report of violence against a taxi driver at 2.41am on Sunday.”
Bendtner is currently playing for Rosenborg in Sweden, after spells at Arsenal, Juventus, Sunderland and Birmingham.
