Former JB Land & Mines Office employee remanded over dubious land deals

JOHOR BARU: A former Johor Baru Land and Mines Office administrative assistant and two other men will be remanded for 21 days under the Prevention of Crimes Act (POCA) 1959, to facilitate police investigations on dubious land transfer deals.

The 43-year-old former administrative assistant was today hauled to the magistrate court, along with the two other suspects; a 50-year-old real estate broker and a 38-year-old office runner.

Magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Alias granted the remand order for the trio, which will end on March 27.

The dubious land transfer deals were allegedly committed two years ago.

Deputy public prosecutor Nor Azizah Mohamad made the remand application for the three suspects.
