MANILA, Philippines - Former sexy star Cherry Madrigal, star of '80s films ''Selos,'' ''Imoral,'' and ''Dalagita,'' has opened up on how she and her husband had to take down their home to make way for a road widening project.
Speaking in a taped interview aired on TV5's ''Ang Latest,'' Cherry related that the experience had hurt her immensely, ''kasi bahay mo, pinatayo mo, gigibain mo.'' She and her husband had decided to do the task themselves instead of members of the task force so they could salvage at least some of the metal parts and iron sheets, which they can sell to a junk shop.
Despite this latest blow in her life, which apparently came less than a year after undergoing gall bladder operation, Cherry and her husband had already started building a new home for their family.
Meanwhile, Cherry has been helping finance her family's daily needs for many years now with the help of actor and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
Cherry remains optimistic despite these challenges, as she believes that ''lahat ng hirap, may katapusan.''
