Fourteen men sought by police over murder of Sibu businessman

KUCHING: Police are looking for 14 men to facilitate its investigation into the murder of a businessman in Sibu on Thursday.


Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the men were among 17 people wanted by the police in connection with the case.


Three of them, said Mazlan, have been remanded over the case.


"We are in the process of identifying locations and expect arrest to be made soon.


"It is better for them (suspects at large) to turn themselves in," he told reporters after the Sarawak police monthly assembly here today.


It was reported that businessman, Tan Teck Howe, 29, was with his friends when they were approached by two men at a coffee shop in Jalan Wong Kong Huo in Sibu about 1am.


The victim was beaten up until he fell unconscious in a scuffle between the groups.


He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to severe head and bodily injuries about 5am.
