Follow the French Open live on your smartphone and tablet

With a new update just in time for the start of the 2012 event, the official application of the French Open tennis tournament allows fans to follow all the matches and catch every serve of the tournament. The Roland-Garros 2012 app is available for free on iOS and Android devices.

The main vocation of the app is to provide real-time news and statistics (scores, rankings) on all the matches in each category. Users can also program special alerts related to up to five players.

The app also lets fans go behind the scenes at the tournament and see video footage of daily highlights. This year, users can use the app to follow the qualification rounds, which kick off May 22, weather permitting.

Roland-Garros 2012, the app, is also connected to Twitter and Facebook and all its data can be easily shared on social networks. A virtual tour of the main site is rendered in 3D.

The app, developed by mobile provider Orange, offers certain exclusive content when the device is connected to the host mobile network.
