Courteney Cox has dropped a bit of a bombshell for Friends fans, revealing that the cast of the show have only hung out together twice since the series ended.

The hit comedy also starring Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer wrapped up in 2004 after airing 10 series.

But while fans may have been imagining cosy monthly get togethers or yearly reunions, Cox admitted on web series Hiking With Kevin Nealon that the group rarely manage to get together.

The actress said it had taken “forever” but that the Friends stars were finally in the same room in October last year, around the time her close friend Aniston shared a snap on Instagram of them all enjoying an evening together.

“I don’t know how many years it was, maybe 15 years - and we finally all got together and had dinner,” said Cox, who found fame playing Monica Geller on the show.

“And when we get together, which is never - it just doesn’t happen very often, like twice since we ended the show - it’s just the most fun.

“We laugh so hard.”

However, the get togethers are likely to ramp up a bit now that the famous six have signed up for a long-awaited Friends reunion.

Speculation about a possible reunion has been swirling for years.

Then earlier this month it was confirmed that all six original cast members could be back for an unscripted special on the HBO Max streaming service.

The cast announced the news with identical pictures on Instagram, writing: “It’s happening…”

Cox said on Kevin Nealon’s show that she was excited about the special and assured fans it would be “fantastic”.
