KUALA LUMPUR: Fuel prices are set to go down for the first week of May.

In an announcement today, the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry said the price of RON 95 as well as RON 97 petrol will decrease by 10 sen per litre, respectively.

RON95 will retail at RM2.11 per litre, compared to RM2.21 last week. RON97, meanwhile, will be priced at RM2.39, a reduction of 10 sen from RM2.49 per litre the previous week.

Diesel will see a six sen decrease, retailing at RM2.08 sen compared to the previous price of RM2.14 per litre.

The prices will come into effect at midnight tonight.

Fuel prices are now announced on a weekly basis based on the new pricing mechanism. A managed monthly float system was previously in place since December 2014, after fuel subsidies were removed.
