FuelCell Energy reports fourth-quarter loss, misses expectations
DANBURY, Conn. (AP) _ FuelCell Energy Inc. (FCEL) on Thursday reported a loss of $12.9 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Danbury, Connecticut-based company said it had a loss of 41 cents.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 37 cents per share.
The fuel cell power plant maker posted revenue of $24.5 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $23.3 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $51 million, or $1.82 per share. Revenue was reported as $108.3 million.
The company's shares closed at $1.95. A year ago, they were trading at $5.88.
