Full Card Revealed For ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX II
ONE Championship delivered an incredible night of martial arts action last Friday at ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX, which saw the crowning of two new World Champions and the successful title defenses of two other divisional rulers.
Now, The Home Of Martial Arts has announced that its next event, ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX II, will feature another World Championship matchup along with a World Title eliminator. The action, which was previously recorded at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, will go down this Friday, 6 November.
In the main event, ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov will defend his belt for the first time against undefeated American James Nakashima.
Abbasov won the gold in October 2019 by defeating then-World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam.
That came after he scored wins over former ONE World Title challenger Agilan “Alligator” Thani and Japanese mixed martial arts icon Yushin “Thunder” Okami.
Nakashima, meanwhile, has also scored three straight wins in ONE, bringing his overall professional record to a flawless 12-0. His most notable victory in the Circle came over Okami as well.
On Friday, the challenger will try to keep his perfect record intact and snatch the belt from Abbasov, who will be attempting to continue his divisional reign while adding another win to his impressive 22-4 slate.
Before that main event takes center stage, #3-ranked lightweight contender Pieter “The Archangel” Buist will face #4-ranked Timofey Nastyukhin in a ONE Lightweight World Title eliminator.
The winner will stake their claim to challenge ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee, who’s been absolutely destructive since winning the belt from Japanese legend Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki last year.
Lee would certainly have his hands full against both of these top-five contenders. Buist is a dangerous striker, while Nastyukhin has produced some of the most electrifying knockouts in ONE Championship history.
