2 Aug – Despite her fame, American pop star Lady Gaga is not satisfied with just showing her "Poker Face" in the music scene, turning heads in the fashion scene with her "Born This Way" attitude, and ends up landed her first feature film role ever in "Sin City" director Robert Rodriguez's upcoming action exploitation film, "Machete Kills".
According to Extra, the 26-year-old musician plays a gun-wielding, lingerie-clad chick called La Chameleon in the film, complete with her very own character poster. In the poster, Gaga is posing topless and holding a golden gun, only covered by a dead wolf, while her hair is done up like Marilyn Monroe.
Rumours surrounding her involvement in the second instalment of Rodriguez's "Machete" franchise broke out long before the poster appeared which Gaga recently addressed on her Twitter.
"Yes it's true; I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing "Machete Kills"... I'm so excited!!! Ah! Filming was insane," Gaga tweeted.
Rodriguez also responded to his collaboration with the diva through his Twitter account.
"I just finished working with Lady Gaga in "Machete Kills" she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!" said the American director.
At the same time, it was reported that "High School Musical" and "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" star Vanessa Hudgens has also joined the ensemble cast in "Machete Kills". She will be playing Cereza, which means cherry in Spanish.
Besides Gaga and Hudgens, "Machete Kills" will see the return of the original cast members which are Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez, plus big-name additions such as Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and the grown up former "Spy Kids" female lead, Alexa Vega.
"Machete Kills" is the second in the "Machete" series, with the third to be named "Machete Kills Again". The film finds Machete mourning the loss of his beloved Sartana, slain during a run in with the cartels, while trying to complete the mission tasked to him by the President of the United States. As it goes, Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a cartel leader, Mendez the Madman, who threatens to fire a missile on the country.
There is no actual release date for the film yet but it is expected to hit cinemas in 2013.
