Gang of 4 makes off with RM100,000 in jewellery
KAJANG: A group of robbers carted away RM100,000 in jewellery from a shop at Jalan Tun Abdul Aziz here yesterday.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Othman Nanyan said the four robbers wearing full-face helmets had barged into the premises in the 6pm incident.
One of the men was armed with a weapon that looked like a gun.
“At the time of the incident, two workers were in the premises – one was in the office while another staff was entertaining two customers at the shop.
“One of the men smashed the display counters in the shop and carted away the jewellery,” he said, adding there were no security guards on the premises.
Checks revealed the shop has been operating at the area since 1977 and this is the third time robbery has taken place here.
A forensic team had found 10 fingerprints at the crime scene.
Police have also reviewed the closed-circuit television cameras at the premises.
Othman said the investigation is on-going and police are tracking down the four men.
The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery
