Gavin & Stacey fans rejoice - the BBC has teased the first trailer of the upcoming Christmas episode.

The cast of the hit sitcom written by James Corden and Ruth Jones have reunited for a one-off special to air on Christmas Day - and a 30 second clip gives fans a first glimpse of what they can expect.

The trailer centres around Rob Brydon as Stacey’s Uncle Bryn, who appears to be feeling the pressure of cooking Christmas dinner for all the family. Despite military preparations, including walkie talkie radio communication and a strict timing schedule, Bryn is struggling to juggle everything and ends up on his hands and knees amid spilt food and broken crockery.

Joanna Page and Ruth Jones also appear in the clip as Stacey and her best friend Nessa - gazing in dismay at Unlce Bryn’s Christmas chaos.

He tells them: “Would you kindly inform everyone that their dinner will be ever so slightly delayed.”

The ‘Easter Egg’ trailer was sneakily added to the very end of the first Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, which was recently uploaded to the BBC iPlayer.

Corden and Jones announced in May this year that they were reviving their Bafta-award winning comedy.

Gavin & Stacey aired over three series, plus a Christmas special, from 2007 to 2010 on the BBC.

It told the story of Gavin (Horne), from Essex, and Stacey (Page), from Barry in Wales, who fell in love and married after speaking on the phone to each other every day at work.

The 2010 New Year’s Day finale was watched by more than 10.2 million viewers.

Writers Corden, 41, and 53-year-old Welsh actress Jones met on the set of ITV’s Fat Friends in 2000.

Following the success of Gavin & Stacey Corden moved to America, where he hosts The Late Late Show.
