GE2020: Singapore Parliament dissolved, Polling Day on 10 July

SINGAPORE — Parliament was dissolved on Tuesday afternoon (23 June) by President Halimah Yacob at the request of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Nomination Day will be on next Tuesday (30 June) and Polling Day is set for Friday on 10 July.

In a national address on his Facebook page and on free-to-air television and radio, Lee explained the reasons in calling for a GE now, citing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcement comes more than three months after the release of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee report.
