Genshin Impact has a history of breaking the fanbase when it comes to drip marketing, but this new slew of upcoming characters released on Monday (31 Oct), have fans keyboard-smashing in excitement.

Why? Because Scaramouche is now finally confirmed to be playable! Revealed on the anniversary of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, no less (go listen to the song if you didn't get that reference).

Anyway, you heard that right, the fan-favourite haughty Fatui Harbinger and resident Inazuman troublemaker will join the roster of playable characters some time after the 3.2 update, albeit now with a drastically different name and design.

Drip-marketed along with him is a new character named Faruzan.

Here's everything we know about them so far!

The Wanderer

Before being known as Scaramouche the Balladeer, or his chosen name Kunikuzushi, this Fatui Harbinger was called only by the name "Wanderer".

We've explored the Wanderer's past extensively before, he was the first puppet robot created by the Inazuman Archon, Raiden Ei, with the purpose to house her Gnosis as a way for her to avoid erosion.

However, Raiden Ei chose to not use the Wanderer as he had "shed tears", making her decide that he would be too soft to hold the might of her Gnosis. Instead of destroying this puppet, though, she opted to seal him away in a deep sleep.

it isn't known how the Wanderer awoke from his slumber, but once escaping his confines and going into the outside world, he was faced with betrayal and heartache that led him to become the cunning Fatui Harbinger he is today.

With the conclusion of version 3.1's Archon Quest, we now know that Scaramouche is in cahoots with fellow Harbinger Il Dottore and the Akademiya Sages to become the new god of Sumeru.

Although considering that his drip market now shows him in a different Kimono, different colour pallete, and an Anemo Vision (no less the perfect Vision for him what with all his dead friends...), it's safe to assume that Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse just committed the biggest spoiler of the game in recent memory.

Since 3.2 will have us face him in an epic boss-fight that, likely, will lead to his defeat and "reprogramming" as the Wanderer.

His Vision Holder is also of the Sumeru design, so we can expect his "reprogramming" will be in the hands of none other than the Dendro Archon herself, Lesser Lord Kusanali.

We Scaramouche simps are just thankful he didn't turn into ash like Signora did.

Faruzan

Faruzan is known as the "Encyclopedia of Mechanics" in the Akademiya.

According to her lore, students who are searching for answers regarding machinery and their workings but too afraid to ask their tutor can simply knock on Faruzan's door to ask their question. Which sounds nice enough, except...

There is a catch — they must call her "Madam". Respectfully, of course.

Madam Faruzan may look surprisingly young given her penchant for machines, but she has all the wisdom and gentleness of a genius in her field.

While she does sound generally nice, students should pay caution in mentioning her youthful appearance or asking why she's shunned in Haravatat, lest they incur her wrath!

We're excited to know more about their kits and weapon of choices in the future.

For the meantime, we can guess that The Wanderer may have a more DPS-oriented kit, while Faruzan may be more for support!

Genshin Impact version 3.2 will be released on 2 November. The upcoming version also adds two new characters in Nahida, also known as the Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali, and Layla, among a ton of other new content.

Genshin Impact versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will have shortened run times of five weeks instead of the usual six weeks, likely to catch up to the game's original release schedule after the release of version 2.7 was delayed back in April.
