Genshin Impact's Genius Invokation TCG gets official tournament, US$270k prize pool
The Prince Cup tournament features events in Korea, Europe, North America, Japan, Latin America, and SEA/Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan from June to December.
Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse announced on Monday (29 May) that they will be hosting the game’s first-ever official ‘Genius Invokation TCG’ international tournament, called ‘Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup’, featuring multiple regional and international events with a total prize pool of over US$270,000.
The Prince Cup will be held from June to December with both regional and cross-regional events. The regional events will take place from June to September in Korea, Europe, North America, Japan, Latin America, and SEA/Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan.
The regional competitions will feature the top players from the ‘Cat’s Tail Gathering’ community tournaments and wildcard competitions. Players who advance to the quarterfinals of the regionals will compete in on-site events that will be broadcasted on the official Astra Carnival Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok channels.
The top players from the regionals will then be invited to three international Invitationals in June, August, and December.
HoYoverse has yet to announce the official prize pool distribution for the Prince Cup.
