Georgia, Romania qualify for 2015 Rugby World Cup

Georgia and Romania qualified for the 2015 Rugby World Cup on Saturday with home wins in the European Nations Cup.

Georgia beat Russia 36-10 in Tbilisi, and Romania defeated Spain 32-6 in Cluj-Napoca. The wins gave both favourites unassailable leads in the race for a top-two finish and automatic qualification for the World Cup in England next year.

Russia, which made its World Cup debut in 2011 in New Zealand, was still in contention with Spain for third place in the Nations Cup and a place in the continental playoffs against the loser of United States vs. Uruguay.

Georgia and Romania meet on March 15 in Tbilisi to determine their pool in the World Cup.

The winner, and Nations Cup champion, will slot into Pool C as Europe 1 with New Zealand, Argentina, Tonga and Africa's qualifier.

The runner-up will join Pool D as Europe 2 with France, Ireland, Italy and Canada.

Romania has played in every World Cup. This will be Georgia's fourth.
