Ghouls or gargoyles? Not all bots are evil

Bots can be devasting to website loading speed, but helpful bots can help with search engine page rankings

For an e-commerce site, bots can contribute 40 to 60 per cent of the website’s total traffic. This is not a good thing, as it just slows down the site’s performance and, obviously, does not actually convert into sales.

Then there are the truly nefarious bots that scrape data or drive customers to other sites. But, not all bots are bad, and some can even be helpful to the overall success of a company.
