Giant Hailstones Crash Down During Queensland Storm

A bad storm brought giant hailstones, some of which Australian media reported to be the “size of cricket balls”, to parts of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland on the afternoon of November 17.

Footage of the hail bouncing off the ground was captured by Instagram user @aussiemorgo, who commented: “I think this will be as close to a ‘white Christmas’ that I’ll get here in Australia!"

The “very dangerous” storm slammed communities, with “damaging winds and giant hail,” the Bureau of Meteorology said on Sunday.
