Girl, 2, dies of suspected abuse after staying at PJ babysitter's home

KUALA LUMPUR: A two-year-old girl died after she was believed to have been abused at her babysitter’s house in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday.


It was learnt that the victim’s mother had sent her to the babysitter’s about 1pm before she left for work.


About an hour later, she received a message from the babysitter, informing that her daughter was feeling unwell and appeared weak.


She immediately rushed over to collect her child, who was by then unconscious.


The woman rushed her daughter to the University Malaya Medical Centre.


The child however was pronounced dead about 5.40pm on the same day.


Preliminary investigations by the hospital revealed the toddler had bruises all over her body. A post-mortem examination will be conducted today.


Police have launched an investigation into the case.


At press time, it was learnt that police have picked up a woman and two men to assist investigation.
