Before Glen Powell was a household name and bonafide movie star, he made a brief appearance on a reality show at 13 — and was sent home after his first episode!

During a Wednesday, July 18 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while promoting his movie Twisters, Stephen Colbert brought up the actor's reality show past.

Colbert, 60, told audiences about one of Powell's "earlier forays into the world of action that wasn’t as successful," referring to the Discovery Kids series Endurance.

Powell, 35, was on the show for its first season in 2002 and only appeared in one episode. Endurance, meanwhile, aired from 2002 until 2008.

“It’s really pretty hard for me to talk about, to be honest,” Powell said, visibly embarrassed. “I’ve never talked about this publicly ever."

"The fact they pulled this out is shocking, but here we go," he continued. "I was 13, I was on a show called Endurance; it’s basically a kids Survivor-type show.” Powell said it was a reality show where they sent kids to Mexico. "And they pit them against each other."

The Top Gun: Maverick actor admitted he doesn't like talking about the show since he didn't get far in the competition. “I wanted to be on the show really bad, and I got kicked off in the first episode,” he said, appearing sad.

Colbert wasted no time showing the audience a clip from Powell's Endurance episode, where a young Powell in a gray shirt talks about a challenge that appeared to involve monkey bars.

“I thought I could do it for a long time, but my balance didn’t think so,” he says during a confessional clip intercut with him competing. “When I realized I was going home, it was the worst feeling.”

As though Powell wasn't surprised enough already by Colbert's antics, he then read the actor's bio from the show over 20 years prior.

"Glen likes making his own movies and is working to buy a professional video camera by mowing lawns and acting in commercials," his Endurance profile read. "He is a world traveler and is looking forward to going to a new destination and new meeting people on Endurance."

Wrapping up the bio was a wholesome note: "He likes to tap dance and sing at nursing homes."

Despite Endurance not being Powell's calling, he told PEOPLE in July that he and his Twisters did go storm chasing after filming the action movie. “We went, we survived,” he said.

“And probably behind us, you're going to see a lot of the actual storm chasers that we actually went storm chasing with.” Whether or not it's his new hobby, however, remains to be seen.

“It takes a long time to travel across the world chasing storms, but maybe I'll find it. Yeah.”

Twisters is now in theaters. Endurance, meanwhile, is available to rent on Amazon Prime.
