Gloss, color and creative hairstyles: Milan Fashion Week in three beauty trends
The whirlwind of bold catwalk beauty looks that comprised the Spring/Summer 2020 Fashion Week in Milan has come to an end, as the industry turns its attention to Paris. We take stock of the strongest hair and makeup trends seen on the Italian runways.
Shiny, super-hydrated skin has been a strong beauty trend this season, and Milan showed it had its finger on the pulse, with extra-dewy complexions seen at several shows. These included No21 and Missoni, where luminous highlighter and shimmering bronzer made for a glowing, sunkissed aesthtic. Giorgio Armani also nodded to the trend, opting for a subtle shimmer when it came to foundation.
Eyeshadow is officially bright and beautiful for Spring 2020: there were pastel blue and aquamarine shades at Max Mara, neons at Versace and a kaleidoscopic rainbow of colors seen on the models' eyelids at Salvatore Ferragamo's presentation.
Giorgio Armani styled models' hair into mini buns for a punk-inspired look, while Marni went all out with a series of elaborate, towering botanical headdresses. Hair accessories fashioned from blue wire gave the models at Tiziano Guardini an almost angelic, ethereal look.
