'God bless': Current, former NFL players react to Jaguars firing Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer's time as Jacksonville Jaguars head coach has ended just 13 games after it started. Owner Shad Khan fired him in the wee hours of Thursday morning, not long after former Jags kicker Josh Lambo alleged that Meyer had kicked him once during practice.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back, but there were many, many more straws that came before. His 2-11 record. His attitude with the media. Reportedly berating his coaches. That time he went to a bar and flirted with a woman who wasn't his wife instead of going home with his team after a tough loss. It's not surprising news, but it's certainly big news. There hasn't been much reaction from current NFL players yet, though Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey spoke for many of them early Thursday morning when the news broke.

Jags players reportedly vented to Rams players after the two teams faced each other in Week 13, so Ramsey has likely heard a few stories about Meyer that most people haven't.

Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints also had a pretty excellent reaction.

Former players like Emmanuel Acho, Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, Torrey Smith and T.J. Lang also had a few things to say.

Former kickers Jay Feely and Josh Scobee had some opinions about Meyer, and — surprise! — they were not good opinions.

Current and even former players may not want to say too much about Meyer's firing, but fans and the media were there to pick up the slack. Warren Sharp's video about Meyer's utterly disastrous tenure may be the best thing you'll see on the internet today.
