Google has announced a new tool in its Arts & Culture app that lets users edit personal photos in the style history's most iconic artists.
For users looking to edit their photos with a dramatically artistic flair, Google has added a new feature to its Arts & Culture mobile application that converts images into masterpieces styled like the instantly recognizable works of Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo or Leonardo de Vinci.
Art Transfer can be accessed by tapping on the camera icon in the application and selecting "Art Transfer" from the menu that pops up. From there, users can take a photo or select an existing one from a photo library. From there, users can choose a style, like that exhibited in Edvard Munch's "The Scream," Andy Warhol's "Self Portrait," Claude Monet's "Ninfee rosa," and a handful more, which will automatically be applied to the image -- or just part of the image if a user selects a small section via the integrated scissor tool.
Unlike most editing tools which just blend a style with an image, Art Transfer uses AI to create "a unique algorithmic recreation of your photo inspired by the specific art style you have chosen."
The tool is available today allowing users to make masterpieces out of their snapshots right on their smartphones.
