Google+ trends: 3D images on Google Earth, Usain Bolt live Hangout

Google and the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics team have hosted a live Google+ Hangout with Jamaican sprinter and three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt.

“Starting in just a matter of minutes -- Olympic 100m, 200m and 4x100m champion and fastest man in the World, Usain Bolt hanging out live, here! Are you ready? #askbolt,” asked London 2012 on its Google+ page before Bolt started video chatting with fans and answering questions.

Google has announced the availability of 3D imagery and guided tours on Google Earth for iOS.

“Big news for Google Earth fans on iOS devices!” said Google Earth in a post on Google+. “Today we are excited to announce the availability of 3D imagery on Google Earth for iPad, iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. With today’s release of Google Earth for iOS you can literally fly through breathtaking 3D city landscapes and images and follow virtual tours of places you’ve never been -- all with a simple swipe of your fingertip.”
