Google+ trends: Ingress continues to cause buzz, Christmas is coming

On Wednesday, November 28, Google+ users are buzzing about the recently launched augmented reality game Ingress and looking forward to Christmas.

Google recently launched Ingress, a mobile application that uses augmented reality to transform users' surroundings into a game in which they must collect "power packs" and tag landmarks in their local area.

Users of an Android phone can theoretically play from most places in the world and are divided into two teams - the Enlightened or the Resistance. The app was initially very popular on Google+ when it was launched on November 15 and continues to cause a buzz, with users sharing their experiences of the game under the hashtag "Resistance." The app is currently still in closed beta but potential players can request an invite at ingress.com.

Also causing a stir on the social network is Christmas. With the festive season just around the corner, users of Google+ are posting various Christmas-themed images, discussing recipes and presents and of course sharing pictures of cats in festive costumes.
