Google+ trends: Robin van Persie won't re-sign with Arsenal, 4th of July

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has announced that he will not extend his contract with the English Premier League football club.

In an update on his official website he stated, “I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days. Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.”

G+’ers are reacting to the news, posting, “It's disappointing, but you've got to respect his opinion and his decision” and “Thats too bad for Arsenal. Wonder what's going on behind the scenes in the club since it wasn't a decicion [sic] based on financial reasons.”

Google+ users in the US have been celebrating the 4th of July on the social network with photos of fireworks and patriotic memes.

Some consumers are complaining that newly downloaded iOS apps are crashing their devices “due to corrupt App Store updates.” Users are calling on Apple to release a fix.
