Google's Santa Tracker up and running

Filipino children who always wondered how Santa Claus delivers so many gifts to so many children in just one night can finally get a glimpse of how he does it, thanks to Google Maps.

Google is launching the Santa Tracker, an interactive tool on Google Maps' dashboard, to track Santa as he makes his deliveries.

With the tool, children and kids at heart can track Santa through their desktop, mobile, and tablet computers.

Santa’s journey will also be tweeted through the official @googlemaps Twitter account.

On the other hand, Google has readied Santa’s Village, an interactive experience that features three HTML5 games and sends a customized phone call to friends and family.

Meanwhile, Google said Filipinos who use Google's Chrome browser can download and install the Chrome extension to track Jolly Saint Nick.

As for mobile users, they can install the Santa Tracker Android app

or through Google Earth.

Santa's elves plot routes via Google Maps

Google said it is working closely with Santa’s elves in plotting Santa’s worldwide route - using Google Maps.

"On December 24, Santa will leave the North Pole to begin his journey – starting at the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Asia, then to Africa, Europe, Canada, the US, Mexico and Central and South America," it said.

It added Santa usually arrives between 9 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Eve in most countries, "so track away!" — TJD, GMA News
